NOTES:  The 2004 vintage Cellar Reserve Merlot was made from grapes grown on the Rising Star Vineyard located approximately 30 miles southeast of Abilene, Texas. This is the third vintage the Rising Star Merlot has been selected for our Reserve program. The 2004 vintage is medium in body, and more delicate than previous vintages, so barrel aging for this wine was extended to 7 months to further complex the character of this delicately balanced wine (in the style of Pétrus).

Merlot is one of the distinguished varieties used in the blending of French Bordeaux, and is among the most extensively planted red varieties across the USA. Merlot is renowned for its berry-like aroma and soft, round tannins.

Serve this elegant wine with roast pork, or beef, most steaks, or Italian dishes that favor a marinara sauce.
