Now in it's fourth year, Llano Estacado Viognier is developing an award winning reputation.  In 2005 international competitions, Llano Viognier was awarded two Silver and one Bronze medal.  Viognier is most renowned for the fine, richly textured wines of the French Rhone district.  Llano 2005 Viognier displays many similarities, but exudes it's own unique range of flavors as a result of our different soils and climate.

Our grapes are picked after sunset by machine to keep the fruit as cool as possible during transport to the winery.  Upon arrival at the winery the fruit is delicately pressed and the juice pumped into our stainless steel tanks.  Using a commercial preparation of indigenous Rhone yeast, a percentage of the free-run juice is then barrel fermented in our new and 1-year old French Oak barrels.

Llano Estacado Viognier is a rich bodied wine true to the character of the Viognier variety.  Tired of Chardonnay?  Try Viognier.  We recommend this wine as a fine accompaniment to all seafood, veal and poultry dishes.
