Those of us who are fans of Texas wines know that our climate is a big challenge and the past two consecutive vintages (2006 and 2007) are proof.  While the past two years have been low vineyard production vintages due to hail and spring frost, we have had great quality.

As a result of short supply, our 2006 Merlot carries an American Appellation and is a blend of wines from grapes grown in Texas and California.  This wine is 67.9% Merlot from grapes grown in Texas, 19.8% Merlot and 12.3% Cabernet Franc from California grapes.

Merlot is a perfect wine to enjoy with most any meal.  Serve this wine with  grilled chicken, pork-chops, and prime cuts of beef, wild game, venison, duck or turkey. This wine is ready to drink now or will continue to improve in complexity with additional bottle age.
