NOTES:  The 2003 vintage Cellar Reserve Merlot was made from grapes grown on the Rising Star Vineyard located approximately 30 miles southeast of Abilene, Texas. This is the second vintage the Rising Star Merlot has been selected for our Reserve program. The 2003 vintage is heavier in body than previous vintages, and is a richly textured wine.

Merlot is one of the distinguished varieties used in the blending of French Bordeaux, and is among the most extensively planted red varieties across the USA. Merlot is renowned for its berry-like aroma and soft, round tannins.

Serve this elegant wine with roast pork, or beef, most steaks, or Italian dishes that favor a marinara sauce.
