NOTES: Llano Estacado 2005 Cellar Reserve Merlot is a blend of 78.2% Merlot, 20.6% Sangiovese, and 1.2% Cabernet Sauvignon. All the grapes were grown on the Newsom family vineyard located near Plains, Texas. At an elevation 3,800 feet above sea level, the Newson vineyard is the highest in the Texas High Plains American Viticulture Appellation.
Smooth, round and delicate, refined and open with currant and plum flavors. The Sangiovese contributes to the overall complexity of bouquet and tannin structure.
Serve Cellar Reserve Merlot at a cool room temperature (58-70F) with Texas beef tenderloin, wild game or pasta. When consumed in moderation, this wine is a healthy complement to any meal. Enjoy!
