NOTES: Our 2007 Signature Mélange is a blend of five varieties grown in our Texas vineyards: 39.9% Syrah, 19.8% Carignane, 16.6% Mourvedre, 13.6% Grenache and 10.1% Viognier.
This Texas Mediterranean blend is inspired by the fine wines being made in the Southern Rhône District of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This wine is medium bodied, rich in color with perfumed aromatics and is softer and quicker to mature than most true Rhône growths. This wine is an excellent example of the influence that our Texas soil and growing environment has on the character of a wine.
The spicy flavor of this fruity, yet dry wine, makes it particularly fine to serve with food. Try with chicken tacos, Santa Fe-styled enchiladas, or a nice pork tenderloin with a demi-glaze.
This wine is quite flavorful if served at room temperature, but don't hesitate to enjoy the fruitier characteristics it exudes when chilled.
